Ondo Tantita Coordinator, Asonja Hails Gesture, Says Donation Will Boost Grassroots Outreach and Access to Hard-to-Reach Riverine Communities

High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated four speedboats equipped with four double 200-horsepower outboard engines to support the activities of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in the riverine communities of Ondo State.

The equipment was received on Saturday by Snr. High Chief Idowu Asonja, Ondo State Coordinator of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), in a move expected to enhance the movement’s operational capacity and facilitate grassroots mobilisation in the state’s coastal areas.

The donation is aimed at addressing the transportation challenges associated with Ondo’s riverine geography, where waterways remain essential for accessing several communities that are difficult to reach by road.
With the provision of the speedboats and powerful outboard engines, the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement is expected to improve mobility, expand its reach and facilitate direct engagement with residents and grassroots stakeholders across the coastal belt.
The gesture comes as political mobilisation efforts continue to focus on strengthening community-level engagement and extending outreach to areas where geographical barriers can limit access.
For Ondo State’s riverine communities, water transportation plays a crucial role in connecting residents, facilitating economic activities and enabling organisations to reach settlements scattered along the coastline and waterways.
The donated equipment is therefore expected to provide the movement with additional logistical support for its door-to-door engagement strategy in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT).
Speaking on the significance of the donation, the movement’s coordination team is expected to focus on deploying the equipment in line with its grassroots mobilisation objectives, with Asonja expected to coordinate its use across the designated riverine areas.
Beyond improving transportation, the donation highlights the importance of logistical support in organising outreach activities across communities where conventional road networks are limited or unavailable.
The four speedboats and their double 200HP engines represent a substantial addition to the movement’s capacity to navigate waterways, reach more settlements and sustain engagement with residents across Ondo State’s coastal communities.
The development marks a further step in efforts to expand the operational reach of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement and strengthen its presence among riverine populations, where effective mobilisation depends significantly on reliable access to waterways.
Asonja noted that as activities continue across the state, the donated equipment is expected to play a vital role in facilitating transportation between riverine communities and strengthening the group’s grassroots engagement and mobilisation efforts.
