ONDO APC ABORIGINES SET TO NAME PREFERRED GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT ON TUESDAY, MARCH 26
The time has come for the Ondo APC aborigines to be affirmative and decisive towards the affairs of the party and the government of Ondo State- Ambassador Sola lji
The FOUNDATIONAL ASSOCIATES (ABORIGINES) in APC Ondo State, will name their preferred governorship aspirant on Tuesday, 26th March, 2024. This is in preparation for the party’s governorship primary billed for April 2024. The resolution was reached at the last meeting of the group held on Thursday, 21st March, 2024.
The well- attended meeting which was held at Ijapo Royal Bird Hotel was presided over by former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Togo, H.E, Ambassador Sola Iji who was former Chairman of AD, AC and ACN successively.
Several top Leaders and chieftains of the party in Ondo state were at the meeting including, former Deputy Leader of the 9th Senate and three -term Senator, Professor Ajayi Borrofice; party leader and former state chairman of ACN, Barr. Jumoke Anifowose; Dr Taiwo Malumi; Chief Tokunbo Ajasin; former Commissioner and party Leader, Hon. Bola Ilori; a former commissioner and two term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Omowumi Ohwovoriole; former National Welfare Secretary of defunct ANPP, Hon. Yunusa Adeola; former Ondo North Senatorial Chairman of AC, Alhaji Isa Oloruntoba; former Ondo South Senatorial Chairman of ACN, Hon Wale Akintimehin; former Ondo North Senatorial Chairman, Chief Femi Osedimbola; Dr Femi Akingbola; Dr S.B. Akerele; former State Chairman of defunct CPC, Hon. Lekan Obolo; pioneer State Secretary of APC, Hon. Raman Rotimi; Otunba Kelly Agboola; former State Women Leader of AD, Chief (Mrs) Grace Animola; former state secretary of AC, Otunba Okunade Adeniran; former State Women Leader of ACN, Hon. Other leaders were Hon. Ayetan Betiku; Mrs Evelyn Ayomike; Sunday Iyaomojuko; Hon. Jabez Olawoye; Kolawole Temitope; Ibikunle Ijagbi; Ojo Oluwamo; Adekunle Isijola; Rufus Olanrewaju and Olabimi Arowolo among other party stalwarts from the eighteen Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
Amb Sola lji while welcoming the party leaders said the time has come for them to be affirmative in taking a decisive step towards playing a prominent in the affairs of the party and the government.
He underscored the need for them to work together as strategic leaders and stakeholders in the party.
Senator Ajayi Borrofice and Hon. Bola Ilori and Hon. Wumi Ohwovoriole also lent credence to what Amb. Iji said on the need to work together as a group in deploying our support for the Governorship Aspirant of our choice.
Reacting, the party leaders at the meeting resolved to work towards a common goal at the forthcoming governorship primary.
Consequent upon the submission of the report of the nine – man committee set up to recommend three topmost governorship aspirants, the group mandated the leadership of the group to deliberate and make further consultation in order to arrive at the choice of a preferred Aspirant.
The group further reiterated their decision to jointly work for candidate of their choice while jettisoning individual preferences.
