Oba Obafemi Ogbaro Emerges Pioneer National Chairman of the Association of Traditional Rulers of Coastal Communities of Nigeria

In a significant development, HRM Oba Dr. Obafemi Ogbaro JP, the Odoka of Ogbaro Kingdom Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State, has been elected as the pioneer National Chairman of the Association of Traditional Rulers of Coastal Communities of Nigeria.
The inaugural meeting, which was held today, 9th August, 2025 in Uyo was attended by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno.
The Association of Traditional Rulers of Coastal Communities of Nigeria aims to promote unity, development, and cooperation among traditional rulers in coastal areas. With Oba Ogbaro at the helm, the association is poised to tackle pressing issues affecting these communities and foster collaboration with government agencies.
Oba Ogbaro’s emergence is expected to strengthen the bonds between traditional rulers and government officials in addressing the unique challenges faced by coastal communities across Nigeria. As a respected monarch in Ondo State, Oba Ogbaro has been vocal about issues affecting his kingdom, Ondo State, Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large.
Oba Ogbaro is currently serving as the Secretary of Ilaje Council of Obas. He was the first Deputy National Chairman of Traditional rulers of Oil Minerals Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON), immediate past National Secretary, immediate past General secretary of IPMAN Western Zone, current Ex Officio of IPMAN Western Zone (Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria)
