OSOPADEC Chairman, Poroye Charges contractors On Prompt Delivery Of Abandoned, Ongoing Projects In Ilaje
…says Gov. Aiyedatiwa has zero tolerance for uncompleted projects
The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye, has visited ongoing projects in Ilaje Local Government Area to assess their progress and assure the community of prompt delivery.
During his visit, Prince Poroye inspected the Obe-nla Concrete Walkway and Molutehin Water Project, two critical infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents in the area.
The Obe-nla Concrete Walkway, a 1,000-meter project, is designed to provide a safe and durable pathway for the community, replacing the existing wooden structures. The Molutehin Water Project, on the other hand, aims to provide clean water to the residents, addressing a critical need in the area.
Prince Poroye assured the people of Ilaje that OSOPADEC is committed to delivering these projects on time and to the highest standards. He emphasized that the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has zero tolerance for uncompleted projects, stressing that the commission is working tirelessly to ensure that the projects are completed promptly and meet the expectations of the community.
According to the Chairman, “By the end of 2025, no community in Ilaje should be importing sachet water. Access to clean water is not a luxury; it is a right. With Governor Aiyedatiwa’s proactive leadership, we will fast-track completion so our people can drink from their own land.
“Thirty percent mobilization is not enough. If we give 50%, we can keep contractors on site until completion without unnecessary breaks.
He also hinted at policy reforms within OSOPADEC to ensure better contractor mobilization and faster project delivery, noting that some delays stem from inadequate upfront funding.
The OSOPADEC Chairman’s visit demonstrates the commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community engagement. The people of Ilaje have expressed gratitude to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his leadership and vision in driving development in the state, particularly in the oil-producing areas.
