2023: APC leaders in Akoko North East endorse Reps member, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo for second term, Jide Ipinsagba for Senate

The APC leaders from Akoko North East Local Government have endorsed the aspiration of Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, Member House of Representatives representing Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West for continuity and Pastor Jide Ipinsagba for Senate.

The meeting which was held yesterday, Tuesday 1st February, 2022 at the Party Secretariat in Ikare Akoko, the APC apex leaders deliberated on issues affecting the party and how the local government can strategically positioned in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. They also discussed the Senatorial aspiration of His Excellency Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and Pastor Jide Ipinsagba.

The Local Government party Chairman while giving his opening remark, called for God’s direction in choosing the right person to occupy the positions of the House of Representatives and the Senate, stressing that the wish of the party to have a consensus candidate cannot be compromised.

After the critical analysis of the three major aspirants contesting for the Senate, considering their positive impacts to the party and to the community, they stressed the need to have a consensus candidate for both House of Representatives and the Senate in Akoko North East Local Government in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The leaders decided to examine them critically, after extensive debate and consultation, they unanimously adopted Pastor Jide Ipinsagba as their most preferred aspirant for the Senate. To stabilized their position, they enumerated the positive impacts of Jide Ipinsagba. The acknowledged the leadership roles of Ipinsagba, especially, in the last Governorship Election. Secondly, they also confirmed that Pastor Jide Ipinsagba is a foundation member of APC who had worked assiduously for the success of the APC since inception. They saluted the financial assistance and contribution of Ipinsagba for the success of the party at all times in the local government, Ondo North and Ondo State in general.

In the same vein, the APC leaders eulogized the excellent performance of Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and consequently endorsed him for second term in office to represent the good people of Akoko North East and Akoko North West in the green chamber.

They advised other aspirants from Akoko North East not to waste their energy and money to contest election with the duo.

They finally commended the outstanding performance and world-class representation of Bunmi Tunji-Ojo at the green chamber and encouraged him to do more and continue in that direction.

Moving the motion for their adoptions, Rt. Honourable Fatai Olotu-Aburumaku, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development said, “the federal Constituency is lucky to have Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and explained that conventional arrangement cannot work now, because Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is performing beyond expectations and Akoko North East wants to focus her effort on the Senatorial race and they need other Local Governments to support in achieving this”. Other leaders that equally called for adoption of Jide Ipinsagba as the most preferred aspirant from the Local Government said, Ipinsagba has the capacity and all what it takes to sponsor election without depending on anybody.

The leaders appealed to other aspirants to team up with the duo for the interest of the community by making APC more united for the challenges ahead.

The leaders also appreciated Arákùnrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN for the major ongoing projects in Ikare and its environs.

Some of the notable leaders who were present at the meeting includes Alhaji Saliu Mumuni, the Local Government Party Chairman, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Fatai Olotu-Aburumaku, Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon Niyi Oseni was represented and Hon. Muyiwa Ogunyemi, Senior Spécial Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Student Affairs.

Others are Chief Marcus Omuiyadun, Retired Commissioner of Police, Alhaja Lasisi Labake, Local Government woman leader, Hon Ganiyu Ojo, former caretaker chairman of Akoko North East, Hon Gani Adejoro, State and Local Government political appointees and Ward Councilors.
