As is the norm, the town hall conference was organized in royal pomp and pageantry at the Royal Ranch, Ayede Ogbese, on the mandate of HRM Alayeluwa Oba Ajibola Olaleye Oluyede, IseOluwa II, the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese -under the auspices of HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Oluyede, a globally-renowned Women/Human Rights activist.
At commencement, on introduction by High Chief Fajembimo, the Lisa of Ayede Ogbese, the Olus of the Alayede Kingdom took the stand with goodwill commentaries by HRH Babatunde Olasoji, Olu of Bolorunduro; HRH Funmilayo Olowokere, Regent of Agunla and HRH Chief Olanrewaju Omobomi, Olu of Boluwaduro.
The highlight of the conference was however the interactive discussion segment on the United Nations theme – ‘invest to prevent violence against women and girls’ which was excellently anchored by Mrs. Oyinade Olatunbosun, Chairperson, Int’l Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria (Ekiti).
This segment featured such distinguished personalities as Queen Naomi Silekunola whose down to earth, unpretentious address attracted loud, enthused ovations at every turn.
Subsequently, Hon. (Mrs.) Olamide Falana, Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State on Gender Affairs, took the stand with a speech which left indelible, enduring impressions on all and sundry.
Rousing entertainment was provided by the National Cultural Troupe (Ondo State) led by Ebenezer Ogunleye, whilst the programme per se was professionally compered by Christian Akpe.
This outstanding event -superbly coordinated by Mrs. Mabel Sunday, Ayede Ogbese Women Vanguard, Princess Fadekemi Nejo and Prince Adekunle Oluyede, will no doubt be remembered for many years to come.
