2024: ONDO TRADE ASSOCIATIONS AND ARTISAN GROUPS DECLARE SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA

Trade Associations and Artisan groups in Ondo State have declared support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa ahead of the April gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State.

The groups endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa during an interactive session with Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers’ (LACO-FS) on Tuesday, 2nd April, 2024 at International Culture and Event Centre, (The Dome), Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.

While delivering his speech, the LACO-FS Director, Union and Artisan Matters, Engr. Michael Adeyanju, appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for recognizing artisans in his government, stressed that the larger endorsement was initiated following the Governor’s outstanding recognition and patronage by surprising artisan groups with the appointment of Engr. Daisi Komolafe, SSA to the Governor on Artisan matters and loan facility of N200million by the Ondo State Micro Credit Agency.

Engr. Adeyanju noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s proactive leadership style in mitigating the concerns of artisans in the state, provoked all the trade associations and artisans groups in Ondo state to come together and speak with one voice to endorse and support Governor Aiyedatiwa.

In his address, Engr. Adeyanju specially appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for showing humanity in the area of regular payment of salaries, wages award, leave bonus etc which are now being paid as when due, noting that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s magic approach in this respect is impressive and applauded by the good people of Ondo State.

“The men and women that have enjoyed political appointments so far are equally round pegs in round holes. This no doubt has shown you as a man of depth and great vision.

“We have therefore come this day to openly associate with your lofty dreams and great ideas for a greater Ondo State by officially telling everyone that Unions and Artisans in the state have endorsed His Excellency, Hon. Orimisan Lucky Aiyedatiwa to continue as our Executive Governor for another four (4) years in office.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure that Governor Aiyedatiwa is returned to lead the State for the next four years.

Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi (Carry-Go)

Convener of LACO-FS 

The Convener of LACO-FS,  Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi fondly called Carry-Go  appreciated all the groups for their unalloyed support for Governor Aiyedatiwa. He specially thanked Engr. Michael Adeyanju, LACO-FS Director, Union and Artisan Matters for the proper coordination of the groups through LACO-FS platform. He charged the people to go back home and continue massive mobilisation for Governor Aiyedatiwa ahead of the governorship primary election in the state.

Prince Poroye Biyi,  Co-convener of LACO-FS

The Co-Convener of LACO-FS, Prince Poroye Biyi appreciated the artisans and traders, noting that they have started work in the streets already.

He urged them to be more aggressive in preaching the gospel of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

In his reaction, Governor Aiyedatiwa reflected on the journey since the commencement of the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa administration in 2020. He emphasized the notable achievements made during this period, highlighting the elimination of outstanding salary payments, ongoing infrastructure improvements such as the filling of potholes, and the successful implementation of the “Operation Light Up Akure” initiative.

He further acknowledged the collective efforts and support of the good people of Ondo State across boards, expressed gratitude for the endorsement to continue serving as governor beyond 2025. He affirmed his commitment to tirelessly work towards the betterment of Ondo state.

He said “Our efforts have yielded tangible results, evident in the resolution of outstanding salary payments, the diligent repair of potholes across our roads, and the successful implementation of the “Operation Light Up Akure” initiative, which has significantly improved street lighting in the city”

“These achievements stand as concrete evidence of our commitment to enhancing the well-being and infrastructure of our state.I am deeply humbled and honored by the endorsement to extend my tenure as governor beyond 2025. Your unwavering support and tireless dedication to our shared vision for progress and prosperity are truly inspiring”

“I wholeheartedly embrace this endorsement and assure you of my continued commitment to serving the people of our state with integrity, diligence, and passion.As we look ahead to the upcoming February 2025 elections, I am fully prepared to embark on this journey, guided by your trust and confidence in my leadership. Together, let us continue to work hand in hand to build a brighter future for all residents of our beloved state” he said.

Some dignitaries who were present at the event are Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Special Advisers, Former Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker and Chairman, SUBEB, Victor Olabimtan, among others.
