KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY THE LEADER, HON. MATHEW OYE
OYERINMADE AT THE STAKEHOLDER’S MEETING OF
MATO MANDATE GROUP (MMG) AT AKURE, THURSDAY 7TH OF MARCH, 2024
PROTOCOL…
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am honored to address you today at this pivotal stakeholders meeting convened by MMG, a steadfast advocate for good governance and progress in Ondo State. Before we delve into the pressing matter of the APC governorship primary, there’s a significant agenda item that commands our attention: the official inauguration of the MMG Central
Working Committee.
Today marks a milestone as we entrust capable individuals with the
responsibility of steering MMG towards its noble objectives. Each
member of the Central Working Committee has been selected for their
dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the principles of good governance. Your appointment carries a weighty duty—to serve MMG with diligence, integrity, and dedication.
As members of the Central Working Committee, you hold the reins of our
organization’s direction. Collaboration, drawing upon diverse perspectives, will be essential in advancing our shared goals. Always keep in mind that our paramount aim is the betterment of Ondo State and its people. Let every decision reflect this principle.
With this inauguration, you become custodians of MMG’s integrity and reputation. Conduct yourselves with honour, transparency, and
accountability. Your actions should embody the values MMG stands for.
I have complete confidence in each of you to fulfill your roles with excellence. Together, we will continue championing good governance for
the prosperity of Ondo State. Congratulations on your appointment, and thank you for your commitment to MMG’s mission. Let us proceed with
determination and purpose on this journey together.
Now, turning to the task at hand, our commitment to good governance must guide our decision-making process regarding the APC governorship
primary. To ensure fairness and thoroughness, I propose the establishment of a seven-man committee. This committee will
meticulously deliberate, consult widely, and recommend two aspirants that MMG can support, prioritizing their alignment with our values and vision.
For the purpose of nomination, the following order should be followed:
1. One representative from each of the 3 Senatorial Districts.
2. One representative from the local government coordinators.
3. Three notable and experienced political leaders, with one of them chairing the committee.
I propose that the timeline for the seven-man committee and the
submission of its recommendation be set at 15 days, counting from today.
It’s imperative that this process upholds MMG’s integrity. Each committee member must maintain impartiality and transparency, free
from external influence or bias. Our reputation hinges on conducting ourselves with integrity and fairness.
As we engage in discussions today, let us keep the best interests of Ondo
State and its people at heart. Our decision holds significant consequences,
and it’s our duty to choose wisely.
I trust this esteemed group of stakeholders to navigate this process with
wisdom and integrity. Together, let’s pave the way for a brighter future for Ondo State.
