A CONGRATULATORY AND GOODWILL MESSAGE TO SENATOR ADEMOLA NURUDEEN ADELEKE, OSUN STATE GOVERNOR-ELECT BY PRINCE JOHN OLA MAFO
It is my great pleasure to congratulate the Governor-Elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, on his resounding victory in the just concluded Governorship Election in Osun State! It is indeed a well-deserved, long-awaited and God-ordained victory!
It is equally my joy to congratulate the PDP family in Osun State, South West, Nigeria at large and all lovers of democracy and genuine change nation-wide. The outcome of the election is a victory for democracy, the rule of law and the much needed accountability in our political system!
I am compelled by a sense of duty and regard to history to recall that four years ago, the same Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke defeated Gboyega Oyetola in the normal election, only for INEC to apply the abracadabra of re-run election to deny Adeleke and PDP a well-deserved victory! Today, the circle has turned round and Karma has confirmed the axiom that what goes around comes around! It is another way of saying that the will of God can sometimes be delayed, depending on circumstances, but can never be denied!
Considering the timing of the Osun election and the proximity to the 2023 General Elections, I cannot resist the temptation to acknowledge the glaring and apparent determination of the Osun electorate to produce a leader of their choice. This coupled with INEC’s deployment of the technology of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System(BIVAS) saved the day for democracy in Osun! It is apposite to note that BIVAS combine the functions of the Card Reader and Z-Pad together, being capable of the verification and genuineness of PVCs and the fingerprints or facial identification of voters, thereby nullifying the need for Incident Form, as well as uploading of results to INEC Result Viewing Portal(IReV). It should be noted that the use of BIVAS is expected to eradicate multiple voting in our elections. These same factors and forces are expected to prevail in 2023 to give Nigeria the government we desire and deserve!
This message of solidarity may not be complete if I fail to mention an important observation in the build-up to the election, bothering on UNITY. Apart from every other factors that combined to produce the victory of Ademola Nurudeen, the spirit of oneness and collective responsibility displayed by the Adeleke family is worthy of celebration and emulation. The message is very clear, a group of united people, be it family, political party, state or nation, will always enjoy an advantage, nay, a head-start in any contest.
Finally, it is my prayer that the good Lord will grant His Excellency (Otunba), Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, will and capacity to pilot the affairs of Osun State in such a way that will meet with the yearnings and expectations of the teeming populace of the state of the source and Nigerians at large!
Once again, congratulations to the lucky, popular dancing Senator and Governor-Elect of Osun State!
Prince John Ola Mafo.
