Ondo State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services, Hon. (Barr.) Akinwunmi Sowore, chaired the first management meeting with the management and staff of the ministry at Alagbaka office, Akure, Ondo State
The meeting which was held on Tuesday, 17th January, 2023, had in attendence all the top management staff of the ministry.
You would recall that Governor Akeredolu did a minor cabinet reshuffle recently where Hon. Akin Sowore was transferred from Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affaires to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services.
While speaking, Sowore appreciated his boss, Governor Akeredolu for giving him the opportunity to serve. He further applauded the Governor for the confidence reposed on him to turn things around which culminated to his redeployment to Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services. He promised to discharge his responsibility effectively and efficiently while assuring Mr. Governor of total transformation at the Ministry.
He also expressed his joy to meet with the ministry management and staff of the Ministry officially for the very first and reiterated his readiness to work in cooperation with them, stressing that the ministry would achieve all goals with unity.
According to him, “every Ministry is juicy if we can work together with unity of purpose, determination, paradigm shift, persistence and perseverance, and above all, by working with the right people, most especially, the professionals. Success can be better achieved if you ask someone who has more knowledge or experience in a certain vocation to take over responsibility. So, following my track records as Chairman Ese-Odo Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Governor specifically instructed me to come to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services and move the ministry forward and upward, therefore, we have a better chance to achieve all our goals most especially when Mr. Governor is interested in the growth and development of the Ministry”.
The commissioner thereafter implored the management and staffs of the ministry to continue keeping their commitment to work in top gear as he expressed optimism about rounding the year off with good results.
He finally appreciated all directors of various departments in the ministry and promised to give them the necessary support when the need arises, adding that his door is always opened for effective service delivery.
