AMNESTY PROGRAMME: WHAT THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR, AIYEDATIWA TELLS EX-MILITANT LEADERS FROM ILAJE & ESE-ODO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
Following the recent agitation of the ex-militants from Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Governments, the Ondo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged the ex-militant leaders to be sincere in presenting the list of their members to the government.
The meeting which was held yesterday Thursday, 6th May, 2021 with the ex-militant leaders at Cocoa Conference Hall, Alagbaka, Akure, the Deputy Governor ordered the ex-militant leaders to go back home and compile a real and genuine list of their members without any fictitious names. He alleged that the initial list submitted by the ex-militants was full fictitious names. He also opened up to them that the federal government may not likely re-enroll new members for the Amnesty Programme for now but assured them that the state government will look into their yearnings and see what they can do after they have come up with the real list of their members. He further reiterated that the initial list submitted by the ex-militant leaders may not be considered by the state government. Coastal Renaissance gathered.
At the meeting, the OSOPADEC Secretary, Dr. Victor Koledoye was in attendance while Commissioner for Information, Hon. Donald Ojogo who is a member of the committee did not show in the meeting at all. The GOC from Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Governments were fully on ground including other Generals and representatives of minor camps.
The spokesman of the ex-militants, Comrade Niyi Majofodun gave the opening prayer. In his prayer, he thanked God for his protection and mercy over the Deputy Governor and members of their groups. He further prayed for rapid attention to their demands by the state and federal governments.
