As the general elections draws nearer, Prince Biyi Poroye, has begun massive mobilisation for the APC House of Representatives candidate in Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, Hon. Donald Ojogo.

In a meeting held yesterday with strategic leaders of the Emerging Political Platform (EPP) – a group in the APC by the State Chairman of the Platform, Prince Poroye, reiterated that the people of Ilaje and Ese-Odo should appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari for releasing too much money for the National Assembly members to execute different projects in their various constituencies.

He noted that President Muhammadu Buhari is the first Nigeria President who would release the highest allocation to the National Assembly since inception of uninterrupted democracy of 1999, stressing that if anybody is to be appreciated at all for a job well done, it should be President Buhari not any other person.

Poroye stated this yesterday, Sunday 19th February, 2023 while addressing strategic leaders of the EPP from Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Governments in his residence at NDDC quarters, Okitipupa, Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State.

While giving his remarks at the meeting, the APC House of Reps candidate, Hon Donald Ojogo, specially appreciated all the prominent sons and daughters of Ilaje and Ese-Odo for their outstanding and remarkable support, assuring that victory is sure for him.

Ojogo equally thanked Poroye and EPP members for their selfness services and cooperation. He then promised to replicate such gesture to Ilaje people when the need arises.

In his words, the Ondo State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Akin Sowore confirmed that EPP members under the leadership of Prince Biyi Poroye are genuine persons who would not betray trust.

“At least, I can confirm to the whole house that EPP members in Ese-Odo where I come from are well committed, loyal and trustworthy members of the APC. They don’t betray people”.

Some of the leaders who accompanied Donald Ojogo to the meeting were: Ondo State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Akin Sowore; Member Governing Council, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akongba Akoko, Hon. Olumide Mekuleyi who acted in dual capacity and represented Hon. Mathew Oyerinmade (MATO) and former Secretary, Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Adamson Orowole.

In another related development while addressing Mahintedo Youth on Saturday, 18th February, 2023 in Mahintedo community, Poroye said, “Mahintedo – Itebukunmi road was constructed by President Buhari-led administration through NDDC and Federal Ministry of Works not Kolade Akinjo – a Reps member, so, the credit of the road should be given to President Buhari but not Kolade Akinjo.

“It’s only Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency a lawmaker will be claiming the credit of jobs done by the Executive Government”.

“On Mahintedo road approval, it’s on record that Hon. Kolade Akinjo, MHR representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency put in his very best to ensure the road was approved, unfortunately, he couldn’t get the approval for more than 7 years as Reps member. It’s also on record that several leaders from Ilaje Local Government met with Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, Chairman House Committee on NDDC, on how he could assist to push hard the project for approval. Fortunately, the appeals of these leaders were met by Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and politely included the road project in the budget as the Chairman of the Committee. Practically, below are the name of leaders who spoke one-on-one with Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and top leaders of the APC over the road, the Ondo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Executive Director Alpha 3D, Prince Poroye Biyi Bill, Federal Board Member, Teaching Hospital, Oyo, Hon. Nimbe Tawose; Managing Director Lerick Nigeria Limited, Mr. Omolade Emuleomo and Publisher Coastal Renaissance news, Hon. Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila and host of others”.

“The question I constantly ask people who accrued the success to Akinjo alone is that, why Hon. Kolade Akinjo has failed to influence the construction of the road before now having spent more than 7 years at the green chamber, not until last year when these leaders intensified more efforts… I am not saying that Hon.Kolade Akinjo did not make his impacts but the credit should not be given to him alone. Other leaders who made their positive impacts should also be appreciated and applauded But for me, super appreciation should be given to President Muhammadu Buhari”.

“You would recall that NDDC had awarded this same road twice under the past administration of the PDP where the money was embezzled”

“Any moment from now, solar power system will be installed by NDDC across the Federal Constituency, so, the people should be well informed so that the MHR will not lay claim the glory again”.

“In full preparation for the Saturday’s election, we will hold another strategic meeting of the EPP across Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Governments on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2023 to consolidate our strategy on how EPP alone can deliver over 2,500 votes for Hon. Donald Ojogo. Therefore, I want you to go to your respective wards and communities and reawake the consciousness of the EPP members, and charge them to be more aggressive in their mobilisations for Donald Ojogo to ensure maximum victory for him”.

“The emergence of Donald Ojogo in the ruling party will enhance more development, dividends of democracy and benefits to Ilaje and Ese-Odo people”.

“We know, and, we can see what other House of Representatives members from the ruling party, APC are doing in their respective Federal Constituencies, so, we cannot go for less”.

“We are tired of opposition. Opposition is slowing down the development of Ilaje and Ese-Odo local governments. We need to step up and project the right candidate”.

Poroye finally warned the House of Reps member representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency and PDP candidate for House of Reps, Hon. Kolade Akinjo to stop illegality by performing the function of President Buhari to had commissioned NDDC capital projects in Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Governments, just in the name of canvassing votes for himself.

“It is an aberration of the law, even an act of inhumanity to man to go and commission ongoing road construction by the NDDC in Mahintedo community, all in the name of canvassing votes for yourself”. Poroye said.
