Biography of Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila
Hon. Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila (a.k.a Igbala) formerly Ogunji Ilesanmi Gbamila who later changed his surname from extended family name ‘Ogunji’ to ‘Taiwo’, his biological father’s name. He was born in Mahintedo in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. His father late Mr. Taiwo Moses Ogunji hailed from Mahintedo while his mother – late Mrs. Tinuke Florence Ogunji hailed from Ilutitun (Ira) in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
He attended St. Barnaba’s Anglican Primary School, Mahintedo. He was a Senior Prefect Boy and obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate in 1992. He proceeded to Ilumeje Community Grammar School, Mahintedo in 1992. In 1997 at Ilumeje, he was appointed the Health Prefect Boy. He wrote his S.S.S.C in 1998 and went further to re-enroll at Community Grammar School, Igboegunrin, Ondo State in year 1999 for better result. In 1999, he was appointed the President of Students Christian Union and served God with genuineness of heart. There and then, he has remained steadfast in God’s work.
In 2000, he gained admission into Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State to study Accountancy. In 2000/2001 academic session at Ilaro, he was elected the Assistant General Secretary of the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), Ilaro chapter. In 2002, he obtained his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accountancy. He also obtained Diploma in Electronic Desktop Computer from the International Instituted of Professional Studies (IPS) in affiliation to Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. Moreover, he obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from Ilaro. In 2004/2005 academic session at Ilaro, he was elected the Vice President of NAOSS, Ilaro chapter.
For the purpose of advancement, he went further to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, to study Economics. In 2007/2008 academic session at Ife, he was elected the General Secretary of the National Association of Ilaje Students (NAIS), National body. He obtained Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) from Economics Department, O.A.U, Ile-Ife. In the expectation of his NYSC, he worked with Consolidated Construction Company (CCC) Nig. Ltd, Ibadan at Oloto-Igboegunrin bridge construction in Ilaje LGA of Ondo State.
In 2009, he went for his NYSC in Kaduna State.
As a faithful servant in the vineyard of God; In 2014, after the completion of his Christian Leadership Course, he was ordained as Deacon in Great is the Lord Bible Church, Akure, Ondo State. Presently, he is the National Youth President of Great is the Lord Bible Church.
In 2015, he obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (PGDJ) from International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.
In August 2015, he was appointed Supervisor for Special Duties in Ilaje Local Government Area. Less than 9 months as a Supervisor, he printed 3,000 customized exercise books and distributed to all the primary and secondary schools in Mahin Ward IV which he represented. This achievement made him to stand tall among all the supervisors Ilaje LG had produced so far since 1979. Also, in April 2016, he was appointed Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Chairman of Ilaje LGA. He was PA/SA on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN) in Ondo State who also doubles as the Acting South-West Chairman of same party.
He is an author of ‘Victims of Political Quagmire in Nigeria’ which he published in 2011, he also authored a biographical book titled “On the footsteps of His Master and Saviour for 60th birthday of Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye of the RCCG which he published in April, 2020 and again, authored another book titled “The History and Heroes of the Ilajes” which he published in May, 2021.
At present, he is the Managing Director of JOYCE-MILA NIGERIA LIMITED – Sub-Distributor of detergent soaps, Supreme Noodles, Top-cafe etc and Managing Director IGBAMILA VENTURES – a Publishing Company and also the Publisher of Coastal Renaissance Magazine and online news which first edition he published in 2007 while still in OAU, Ife as undergraduate.
He is married to Evangelist Taiwo Joy Oluwatoyin Nee Adesoji
