Coronation: Mahintedo stands still as first Onitedo of Mahintedo, Oba Olatunji Fayemi, receives staff of office
Jubilation enveloped the ancient city of Mahintedo yesterday when the first Onitedo of Mahintedo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olatunji Seth Fayemi, Ayanwo I was presented with the staff of office.
The newly installed monarch, Oba Olatunji Fayemi while speaking, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for deeming him worthy of being officially presented with the staff of office as the Onitedo of Mahintedo in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the colorful ceremony held in Mahintedo on Friday, Oba Fayemi, who is now the first officially recognized Onitedo of Mahintedo, acknowledged the recommendations of the Justice C.E.T. Ajama Commission of Inquiry on Chieftaincy Matters, which led to his appointment. He also noted the approval of his appointment by the Ondo State Government on December 9, 2024.
The monarch pledged to dedicate himself to promoting peace and fostering development in the Mahintedo community. While expressing gratitude to God and his people for their support, Oba Fayemi lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for the honor bestowed on him and promised his unwavering support in advancing the transformation of Mahintedo.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Olayide Adelami, who represented Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, congratulated the people of Mahintedo during the ceremony. He described Oba Fayemi’s recognition as well-deserved and urged the community to work together for peace and progress.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also called on the people of Mahintedo to support their new monarch and to prioritize peace in their community at all times.
