The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye has reiterated his commitment to transform the mandate areas, stressing that the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has given him a standing instruction to transform the mandate areas within a stipulated time, charging the staff to get ready for the tasks ahead.
The Chairman stated this on Tuesday while addressing the staff of the Commission during a prayer session to begin a new month activities.
The programme which was held at the Commission’s headquarters on 1st July, 2025 in Oba-Ile, Akure, featured a prayer and thanksgiving session led by Pastor Lanre Ajayi, a Senior Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and an administrator at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
OSOPADEC Chairman, Prince Biyi Poroye, while welcoming all Board members, Management, and staff, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing staff welfare and ensuring that the Commission’s entitlements are fully secured.
“Our first priority is the welfare of our staff. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive work environment where every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. This includes ensuring fair compensation, promoting work-life balance, providing opportunities for professional development, and fostering a culture of open communication and mutual trust.
“By prioritizing the well-being of our staff, I believe we can build a more resilient, motivated, and productive team,” the Chairman asserted.
Prince Poroye also underscored his resolve to eradicate corruption from the system. He encouraged all employees to maintain integrity and avoid all forms of manipulation in order to create an environment where everyone can thrive.
Identifying himself as a voice for the voiceless, the Chairman assured the workforce that the restructuring of the Commission’s projects and operations would be implemented in due course. He stressed that any act of illegal spending or misappropriation of funds would be challenged and addressed decisively.
He further disclosed plans to embark on a project monitoring tour alongside management staff to assess the status of existing projects and kickstart new ones across the Commission’s mandate areas.
The Chairman urged all employees to cultivate a strong sense of passion and responsibility for their duties, emphasizing that genuine commitment is essential to sustaining a corruption-free institution.
The Commission Secretary, Princess Abike Bayo-Ilawole, expressed her profound appreciation to the Chairman for demonstrating a strong commitment to the welfare and well-being of the staff. She noted that such a people-centered approach to leadership fosters a positive and productive work environment.
Princess Bayo-Ilawole further encouraged all staff members to remain dedicated and to put forth their best efforts, emphasizing that their collective hard work and cooperation are essential to the overall success of the administration’s vision and programmes.
Also speaking at the event, Comr. Sola Ademuwagun, Chairman of the OSOPADEC Staff Union, welcomed the Chairman and Board members on behalf of the entire workforce. He expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s clear focus on staff welfare and pledged the union’s support for the administration’s objectives.
Present at the meeting were the Executive Director of Projects, Dr. Olujimi Kufo, and the Executive Director of Finance, Hon. Mallon Ogbaro.
Other Non-Executive Members of the Board present included Hon. Bayo Anifowose, Hon. Lawrence Titbi Ebi Steven, Hon. Mrs. Aderonke Oladun, Hon. Mrs. Grace Adeniseun, and other critical stakeholders from the mandate areas.
