Governor Aiyedatiwa Donates New Vehicles to Ondo Traditional Rulers, Pledges Enhanced Welfare Support

In a renewed effort to strengthen the traditional institution and enhance grassroots governance, Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has donated brand-new vehicles to traditional rulers across the state.

The presentation ceremony, held in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State, brought together eminent monarchs, government officials, and community leaders. Governor Aiyedatiwa described the gesture as part of his administration’s commitment to recognizing the invaluable roles traditional rulers play in maintaining peace, promoting cultural heritage, and driving development at the community level.

“These vehicles are not just tokens of appreciation; they are tools to enhance mobility and effective service delivery by our revered monarchs,” the governor said. “Our traditional rulers remain vital partners in governance, and my administration is committed to improving their welfare and working conditions.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa further pledged to introduce additional welfare initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of traditional rulers and ensuring their continued participation in the state’s development agenda.
Speaking with Coastal Renaissance News correspondent, the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye, commended the governor for his steadfast commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers and the development of oil-producing communities.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has once again demonstrated his passion for inclusive governance,” Prince Poroye said. “By prioritizing the welfare of our traditional leaders, he is strengthening the very foundation of our cultural and social structure.”
He added that the donation would enhance the effectiveness of the traditional institution in supporting government programs, especially in rural and riverine communities.
The monarchs, in their separate remarks, expressed deep appreciation to the governor for his continued support and pledged their unflinching loyalty to his administration. They assured the government of their readiness to maintain peace and foster unity across their domains.
With this initiative, Governor Aiyedatiwa has further reinforced his administration’s reputation for responsive leadership and dedication to improving the welfare of both traditional and grassroots institutions in Ondo State. Prince Poroye said.
