I AM NOT A LAWMAKER WHO RUNS AWAY FROM RESPONSIBILITIES, REPS MEMBER, BUNMI TUNJI-OJO REVEALS WHY HE’S ACCESSIBLE TO ALL & SUNDRY
The lawmaker representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency in the house of Representatives and Chairman House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has explained why is always make himself available to the people not minding their responsibilities. He said, “I am aware of the level of poverty in the land and I always feel the pains and problems of the people, and how best I can mitigate their worries because I was ones in their shoes. I had experienced poverty in the past. I can remember when I could not pay my school fees. So, I know what poverty is all about, so anytime I see people with different challenges, I take it up to the best of my ability not only my Federal Constituency but anywhere in the world. It’s my personal decision and determination”.
He however described his constituency as one of the most backwards in terms of infrastructures and basic amenities which calls his efforts to do exploits and influence governments where necessary to do the needful, and now, the narratives are changing for better in the area.
While addressing newsmen in Akure recently at a media parley organized by Publisher of Triangle Magazine, Otunba Femi Salako. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo said he would continue to work and ensure that Ikare Akoko regains its status of urbanization.
“Anywhere in the world, the yardstick for good representation is based on excellent performance but not the amount of properties you acquire, not the number of years you spend but rather your impact on people and role and commitment in ensuring the development and growth of your people and environment”.
“By now, I want to believe that the leaders and people from my Federal Constituency -Akoko Northeast and Northwest would have known what I represent. I am not the one to praise myself, I will leave commendation for the people to do when the time comes”.
“On 2023 general elections, it is not yet time to talk about politics because second term is not my priority. My priority for now is to spend the next couple of years to see to the development and empowerment I can influence to my Constituency and Oil Producing areas of Ondo State as Chairman House Committee on NDDC”.
“I am not a lawmaker who runs away from responsibilities because leadership role is all about responsibilities and I have qualified myself well for the calling. I have solved some challenges facing health sector in my Federal Constituency with provision of ambulances, mobile clinics and other equipment for the people to have better health service delivery. I have also equipped our hospitals with needed equipment worth over a hundred million naira, I had spent over 30million naira for free surgery from my own personal purse. By so doing, whenever election comes, people should not judge me by the words of my mouth, but rather by my excellent performance”. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo said.
