ILAJE LG CHAIRMAN, GOKE JATUWASE LEADS NIMASA’s DELEGATION TO INSPECT AIYETORO SEA INCURSION FOR PROPER ATTENTION
Ilaje Local Government Chairman, Hon. Goke Jatuwase, has led a delegation of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to inspect Aiyetoro sea incursion following the advocacy of Governor Akeredolu and National Assembly recently, calling on the agency to look into the problem of Aiyetoro community in Ilaje Local Government and curtail the perpetual sea incursion in the community.
While addressing, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Goke Jatuwase expressed the readiness of the local government to key into the activities and initiative of NIMASA, urging the agency to help in curtailing the persistent sea incursion in Aiyetoro community and also help to resuscitate Aiyetoro Technical School where he said many maritime experts were trained and produced in the past.
The local government boss stated this yesterday, Wednesday 16th June, 2021 while leading a delegation of NIMASA to access the level of destruction of the sea incursion in Aiyetoro community.
He said that Aiyetoro Technical School was the first in West African to train and produce maritime experts. He however expressed his pain over the perpetual sea incursion in the community. He then charged NIMASA to facilitate and fast-track the resuscitation of technical school and also combat the problem of sea incursion in the area.
The NIMASA officials who were among the delegation are: Mr. Kabiru Bello, Mr. Sharaji Usman and Mr. Samuel Abiodun. Also, some government officials who accompanied the local government chairman are: Hon. Obele Dickson Mebino, Ilaje Local Government Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Abosede Hellen Zachariah, Leader of the Council, Ilaje Local Government amongst others.
