IMPEACHMENT: If Fubara of Rivers who is an opposition could honour Tinubu, Ondo Speaker and his co-travellers should be ashamed of themselves for disrespecting APC National leaders – Alabi Johnson

ONDO SPEAKER MUST UNDERSTAND THAT HIS LOYALTY MUST FIRST BE TO THE PARTY THAT NOMINATED HIM.
My attention has again been drawn to the unholy utterances of the speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly in his recent release on the attempted Impeachment of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State. He berrated the Governor for not going to withdraw his cases in Court as part of the supposed reconciliation processes. (It is laughable!). It is very ridiculous that the Speaker is ignorant of the dynamics of conflict resolution vis-a-vis the enormosity of the responsibility placed upon his shoulder as the number three citizen of Ondo State. He has thrown caution into the wind, forgetting that he’s one of the leaders that should be working to ensure that our Party APC in Ondo State should not fail especially as we approach another governorship election in Ondo State. He, that is ready for reconciliation should first withdraw the ‘allegation letter’ sent to the Deputy Governor, which is the bases of the Court action.
Unfortunately his actions and inactions show a height of disregard to the Party and its leadership at the National. It also shows lact of intelligence on the part of the speaker and his co-travellers. It also shows that he is not in charge of the assembly but being pushed around by a certain interest. His desperation over this issue of Impeachment shows that he (the Speaker) has a hidden agenda. It’s been speculated that the Speaker is plotting to become acting Governor. But now it’s becoming clearer that the issue of Impeachment of the Deputy Governor is bothered on personal interest of the Speaker.
The President had directed the Party to intervene and the party has done so by setting up the Masari led committee who has intervened. Why is it being difficult for him to respect the Party. Even if he’s disrespecting the Party, should he also disrespect the President of Nigeria? If Fubara who is an opposition could honour Tinubu, Ondo Speaker and his co-travellers should cover their faces with shame for disrespecting the National leadership of the APC.
Henceforth, the ODHA members should know that they are there to represent the Ondo people and not for their selfish interests rather than Lord themselves over the people. Ondo people have generally spoken with one voice that we do not want impeachment in Ondo State. What we want is development! If they can’t ensure it, they should better leave us the way we are and not unnecessarily heat up the polity of our dear state.
