Okitipupa/Irele Reps Primary: Pastor Olusegun Aiyerin congratulates Ondo APC candidates, encourages supporters to be calm and more committed to the party, says tomorrow will be better and brighter
An aspirant at the just concluded APC primary election for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in Ondo State, Pastor Olusegun Aiyerin, has congratulated all the candidates of the APC across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State. He further encouraged all his supporters after losing the primary election to be more loyal to the party, stressing that weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5b). He also charged them to remain committed to the party, APC and ensure that the party wins at all levels – House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the Senate.
In a statement made available to Coastal Renaissance news yesterday, Monday, 30th May, 2022, he said, “I wish to congratulate all our standard flag bearers in Ondo South Senatorial District and the state in general for their victories at the just concluded primaries and to wish them well at the general elections”.
“I wish to equally use this medium to thank all my supporters, friends, well wishers and most importantly, our distinguished delegates for their steadfastness and belief in me. The loss at this last primary election, like the one in 2019, is not because we were not prepared or unpopular. Infact, twice, our popularity and acceptability had immensely helped Mr. Governor to win the gubernatorial elections in 2016 and 2020. However, we only lost to forces beyond our control orchestrated by skewed arrangement. Nevertheless, you never betrayed our collective resolve to seek to deliver a better life for our people, as always, for which I appreciate you profoundly. You are simply wonderful”.
“You will recall that six years ago in 2016 precisely, I sacrificed my personal interest by resigning as a serving State Commissioner to join forces to ensure victory for our party APC. The various setbacks these last six years notwithstanding, I appeal to you all to be calm and be more committed to the party, ensuring that we win all our elections as I can see a better and brighter tomorrow ahead of us”.
“I wish to encourage you with the word of God in Psalm 30:5b that says “weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.” As the future beckons, let us remain resolute in pursuit of diligent service to the people, to unleash our God-given talents to leverage opportunities for our people, in and out of government.
We all know that a successful man is not measured only by how much wealth he acquires, but his obvious integrity and ability to positively affect those around him without manipulations of the people’s freewill”.
“Any alleged flawed or dishonest process which may have breached the liberty of the people is not far fetched in our democracy which is still seeking perfection. Our desire to serve humanity therefore can never be eclipsed or aborted by such obvious limitations”.
“As a party man, I once again congratulate the favoured flag bearers of the season, urging them to work hard, not to dim the victory lights of our party by keeping the party on the winning streak at the general elections.
Thank you all and the Lord bless you”.
