ONDO 2020: NO VACANCY IN ALAGBAKA HOUSE, FUNSO ESAN INSISTS, …CHARGES ILAJE OBAS TO BACK AKEREDOLU
By Coastal Renaissance
The Commissioner for Environment in Ondo State, Hon. Funso Esan, posited “Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo State Governor is returning to Alagbaka government office for the second term”. He revealed that the seat is not vacant yet for anybody to occupy and that no aspirant in the APC could be measured up his standard to contest the primary election with him.
The Commissioner stated this recently in an interactive meeting with Ilaje Obas at the residence of His Imperial Majesty Oba Olusegun Akinyomi, the Amapetu of Mahin Land in Igbokoda, the headquarters of the local government.
Some of the Obas who attended the meeting were His Imperial Majesty Oba Olusegun Akinyomi, the Amapetu of Mahin land, HRH Oba Ikudehinbu, the Maporure of Agerige Land, HRH Oba Adeoye Edema, the Molokun of Atijere, HRH Oba P.O. Kalejaiye, the Odede of Igboegunrin, Princess Jelly Alomore, the Regent of Etikan Kingdom, His Highness Oba Olatunji Fayemi, the Onitedo elect of Mahintedo among others.
Some APC leaders who were present at the meeting are Hon. Funso Esan, Commissione for Environment, Dr. Wunmi Egbayelo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Apostle Raphael Danilola, Managing Director of Danilux Company, Hon. Goke Jatuwase, Ilaje APC Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Bayo Segede, former SA to the Governor on Union Matters, Raphael Adegboye, Ilaje Party Chairman amongst others.
In his opening remark, the Commissioner commended the good work of the Governor, saying that the Governor has done much for the state in terms of providing infrastructural development and also applauded the tremendous achievements of the Governor for the past three years, stressing the need for the traditional rulers to rally round him for his re-election in order to continue his good work for the state.
He opined that the economy of Ondo State cannot get to its crescendo unless the state is developed industrially, adding that Governor Akeredolu has an uncontrollable passion for opening up the coastal areas and Ondo South by expanding the economy from mono-cultural nature to multi-dimensional status through some of his projects especially in the Ondo South – Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub in Ore, the Araromi-Lekki Highway road in Ilaje, Ondo Deep Sea Port in Ilaje and so on.
“These projects are clear manifestation of Akeredolu’s good intention to open up the coastal areas. Therefore, Ilaje people especially the traditional rulers should support his re-election in order to execute and complete these gigantic projects in a due course and secure a better future for the state and unborn generation”.
You will recall that the Commissioner had earlier had an interactive meeting with all the Traditional Rulers in Ilaje Constituency I few weeks ago, charging them to support the second term bid of Governor Akeredolu. Moreover, the Commissioner replicated this same meeting in Ilaje Constituency II on Thursday 18th June, 2020, reiterating the need for the Obas to give the Governor a maximum support.
“It will be so
disastrous this time around if Ilaje people act otherwise and play themselves out of Ondo State politics by supporting the opposition. In the last Governorship Election, Ilaje did not vote for Akeredolu but rather voted for Alliance for Democracy (AD), yet Akeredolu won. So, we need to get it right this time and support the Governor for his second term ambition because the man carries a special grace and favour of God. We should not resolve to emotional calculation when it comes to politics because it may lead to failure. Politics is not about supporting our son, it is all about supporting the winning team which Akeredolu symbolises. We must get it right this time around and give maximum support for his re-election so that Ilaje can get her free share of dividends of democracy”. Hon. Esan averted.
While reacting, HIM Oba Olusegun Akinyomi confirmed that Governor Akeredolu is tapping every opportunity available to turn around the economy of the state, stressing the need for all and sundry to support his re-election. The Amapetu of Mahin who spoke on behalf of the Obas pledged total support for the Governor’s second term bid.
