ONDO FEDERAL LAWMAKER, BUNMI TUNJI-OJO SPONSORS TWO BILLS WHICH ARE SUPPOSEDLY TO BOOST JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTHS & UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES
The Federal Lawmaker representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, Hon Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has presented two bills seeking to amend the Minerals and Mining and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund Acts. The bills are supposedly to create job opportunities for the youths and unemployed graduates in Nigeria.
Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on NDDC stated that the amendments to the mineral mining act will help to bring more active investors into the country and boost the economic development and also increase the rate of employment.
The lawmaker further noted that the two bills were aimed at solving unemployment and create more jobs for the youths in the country.

The Federal lawmaker said: “Apart from incorporating colleges of Agriculture in the funding of tertiary institutions through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), the bill to amend the TETFUND act seeks the distribution of funds to the institutions in the ratio of 2:1:1:1 among Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Colleges of Agriculture respectively.
“This is inspired by the need to restore the nation’s past glory in the area of agriculture by giving a special attention to agriculture-based institutions.
“The Act to amend the Minerals and Mining Act will among other things attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through a well-articulated and coordinated incentive to prospective investors.”
“It also seeks an aggressive exploration and exploitation of abundant solid minerals to reignite manufacturing industries in creating jobs for the youths and unemployed graduates.” Bunmi Tunji-Ojo opined.
