The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko North West Local Government, Hon. Obanla Kehinde also known as Ajapara, has boasted that APC will win all the polling units in Ondo North Senatorial District in the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in the state, stressing that the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO) has invested so much on the people of Akoko in terms of human capital development, empowerment and employment.
While speaking with Coastal Renaissance News, Obanla confirmed that the Minister has concluded plans to empower additional 100 people per unit throughout across Akoko land before the upcoming governorship election in November 16, having recently empowered market women, BTO women forum, students, all local government executives and ward chairmen.
He added that the Minister has a special plan for Ondo South and Central senatorial districts, which will be executed before November 16 governship election.
While speaking, he described Bunmi Tunji-Ojo as a visionary leader who pays premium to the welfare and well-being of his people, changing the narrative of the people through empowerment and employment programmes.
He noted that over 8,000 students in Ondo State have enjoyed his educational scholarship/bursary at different levels to boost their education while some have been supported at the Tertiary Education level, others at the secondary level, and most in their primary level. Education for him is key, and as such, he is contributing to the making of the next generation expected to contribute to nation building.
He also confirmed that over 10,000 market women and artisans have been blessed through BTO’s empowerment programmes over the years.
In his recent empowerment programme, Obanla noted that Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has empowered 1,000 youths, 2,000 market women, all the local government executives and ward chairmen from Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency area of Ondo State. He revealed that all the ward and local government general meetings held recently in Ondo Northern Senatorial District were being sponsored by the Honourable Minister and planning to replicate same in Ondo South and Central senatorial districts of the state.
He said, “Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has concluded plans to empower 100 people per polling unit across all the units in Akoko land and other two senatorial districts of the state. The Minister is working hand-in-hand with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to increase the living standard of the people and propel sustainable development in Ondo State.
“Bunmi Tunji-Ojo’s empowerment programme four times per year, has become the reference point for political mentees in the southwest and Nigeria at large. Other humanitarian kind gestures too numerous to mention is what Dr. Tunji-ojo is known for; he has raised several families from poverty to prosperity, indeed, he is a man of the people.
“Our country Nigeria needs leaders who are not just committed to their core assignments but also sensitive to the yearnings of the people and have compassionate heart to reach out and touch many lives one after the other.
“For Honourable Tunji-ojo, it’s a blend of professionalism and sincere love for the less privileged in the society. He has several occasions, supported the farmers with fertilisers, seedlings, and funds to boost their farming system.
Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has made a lot of sacrifices in order to secure a better future for his people. He has contributed immensely to the national development.
As a former House of Representatives member and currently a Minister, he has facilitated employment jobs for over 1,000 verified names both within and outside Ondo state, contributing to the reduction of unemployment among youths in the country, thereby reducing social tension in the region.
