Top leaders of the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have declared their support for the partys Chairmanship aspirant, Engr. Johnson Alabi. The state leaders made the declaration after a closed-door meeting held in Akure recently.
A source (name withheld) declared: “Top leaders of the party from the 18 Local Government areas of the State are pleased with the aspiration of Engr. Alabi. Of course, they have keyed into his new agenda for the party and also aligned with his innovative objectives that include uniting the party and bringing back all the PDP “landlords” that have deserted the party for the APC and other political parties”. The source said.
Engr. Alabi Johnson Jaiyeola hails from Supare Akoko in the Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State. He is an electrical engineer/consultant and currently the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Kiplan Resource Technologies Limited. He was Special Adviser to the former Deputy Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ali Olanusi; former candidate of the PDP for the Ondo State House of Assembly in 2015; and Local Government Council Chairmanship contender in 2015.
While speaking with Coastal Renaissance recently, Engr. our source declared that Ondo PDP is set to elect a party Chairman who knows the history of the party, a person who can build, a person who can sacrifice, a person who has passion and interest of the party at heart; not a self-centered person. But a personality that can proffer immediate and possible solution to challenges and disputes among members and pave way for the unity and progress of the party. Engr. Alabi knows the pathway and we are ready to give him the mandate without any further ado”, the man added.
The source then appealed to other aspirants to step down for Engr. Alabi as they know quite well that the man has the deep experience and capacity requires to lead the PDP to victory in the 2020 gubernatorial election.
The source also confirmed that all notable leaders in the party are in full supports of Egnr. Alabi’s ambition and that are united, and always speaking with one voice, when it comes to the issue of their support for him. “All the PDP leaders have endorsed Engr. Alabi and the matter is already determined”, he concluded.
Also speaking with Coastal Renaissance, Engr. Alabi promised to win the State for PDP this year if leaders of the party give him the opportunity to restructure and reposition the party and bring back her lost glory. He said his vision is to reposition the party in such a manner that will project its image in a good light and take it to an enviable position among other parties in the State. New hands are needed to make this happen in our great party, he affirmed.
