OWO KILLINGS: OSOPADEC Chairman, Sam Erejuwa & his team pay condolence visit to Governor Akeredolu, Olowo of Owo, St. Francis Catholic Church, victims in hospitals, donate cash & relief materials

The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Otunba Sam Erejuwa, other board members and Management of the Commission payed a condolence visit to the Governor of Ondo State, Arákùnrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Olowo of Owo, HRM Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, Rev’d Father of St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo yesterday, Friday, 10th June, 2022.

The team also visited the victims who are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Owo. Some of the hospitals visited are St. Louis Catholic Hospital and Federal Medical Centre (FMC).

The OSOPADEC Chairman while speaking at the palace of Olowo said, “the visit is supposedly to share from the pains of our dear Governor, Arákùnrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who was crying publicly when he saw the dead bodies of innocent people at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, and also to commesirate with Oba Gbadegesin, the Olowo of Owo and the entire Owo people over the church killings and that they are not left alone in the struggle”.

The Chairman further expressed deep sorrow over the sudden attack, noting that church who is supposedly to be a place of worship and refuge for the people turned to be a deadly place by the bandits. He said, “God will not allow the bandits to go unpunished”.

While reacting, Governor Akeredolu exhibited serious bitterness over the incident, assured that the culprits will be definitely put to book by the security operatives. In the same manner, Oba Gbadegesin, the Olowo of Owo, expressed deep sadness over the unexpected and terrible attack and killings. He confirmed that efforts have been put in place to fish out the perpetrators. He thanked the OSOPADEC Chairman and his team for their concerns and worries in making their appearances at the palace to commesirate with the good people of Owo kingdom.

“For taking your times and come down to Owo to commesirate with the people, it shows that you share from the pains of the victims. May God protect you all and grant you journey mercy to your respective destinations. Oba Gbadegesin said.

The palace of the Olowo of Owo was first place the team visited. Second place was St. Francis Catholic church, and later to St. Louis Catholic Hospital and Federal Medical Center (FMC), Owo. And lastly to the office of the Governor at Alagbaka where they met with the Governor and Chief of Staff to the Governor.

The Chairman, while extending his heartfelt concern and hospitality to victims at the hospitals, donated cash and relief materials to the victims.

He finally prayed for the families of the deceased that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the lost. He also prayed for the victims who are receiving treatment at the hospitals that God would give them quick recovery, and however prayed against future occurrence of such ugly incident in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
