2023 UNITED NATIONS VAWG CAMPAIGN: AYEDE OGBESE WOMEN VANGUARD TO HOST 16 DAYS ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE 25TH NOVEMBER – 10TH DECEMBER
In commemoration of the United Nations 2023 16 days of activism against gender-based violence Ayede Ogbese Women Vanguard is set for a FLAG-OFF RALLY/FREEDOM WALK tomorrow, Saturday 25th November, 2023 in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.
The exciting line-up of commemorative programmes will also feature an interactive COMMUNITY TOWN HALL CONFERENCE on December 2, 2023 while November 30, December 4 and 8, 2023 will be dedicated to MARKET SENSITIZATION.
As is the norm in Ayede Ogbese, the special Town Hall Conference will be held in royal pomp and pageantry, at the Royal Ranch, Ayede Ogbese with dignitaries in attendance from far and wide, on the United Nations global theme “Invest to prevent violence against women and girls”.
Organised on the mandate of HRM Oba Ajibola Oluyede, Ise Oluwa II, the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese (under the auspices of HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Oluyede), the event promises to be yet another productively impactful, resounding success.

Ayede Ogbese Women Vanguard was established just 2 years ago by HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Oluyede, the town’s amiable, globally renowned queen.
The group comprises the dedicated, grassroots leading ladies at the forefront of the town’s novel developments and initiatives -productively leading the way -as they efficiently represent their various groups in the affairs of the women and children of the town.
According to Olori Oluyede, “The main essence/objective of the United Nations 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM Campaign is to advocate for the prevention and total eradication of violence against women and girls in all its ugly, obnoxious manifestations globally.”
“Unfortunately, as is the case globally, Ayede Ogbese has its fair share of violence against women and girls. Our Vanguards certainly have their work cut out for them but are well able to successfully and productively tackle this societal menace, facilitated by these various United Nations commemorative observances.”
