Annual Leadership Conference: Ondo Niger Delta Youth Leaders Council (NDYLC) honours Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, Kolade Akinjo, Ogonoh Tomisin, others, gives award of excellence
The Niger Delta Youth Leaders Council (NDYLC), Ondo State chapter has honoured seven outstanding personalities who have impacted positively on the Niger Delta youths.
The awards of excellence were given at the 3rd Annual Leadership Conference held in Igbokoda the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government yesterday, Wednesday 29th December, 2021.
The seven personalities who were honoured are:
Hon Bunmi Tunji-Ojo fondly called BTO, Member House of Representatives representing Akoko North East/ Akoko North West Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on NDDC – Outstanding Impact of the year; Hon. Kolade Akinjo, Member House of Representatives representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency – Outstanding Parliamentarian of the year; Mr. Ogonoh Tomisin, MD Ogostey Oil and Gas Group of Companies – Best Petroleum Marketer of the year.
Others are: Mrs. Abogun Caroline, MD Twin Rentals – Best Rentals Service of the year; Mr. Akinbola Oyinbo, MD DHAT Nigeria Limited – Best Entrepreneur of the year; Mr. Kolade Oyinbo, MD Kenshol Properties – Personality of the year and Mr. Irewole Oyinbo – Football Ambassador of the year.
While giving his opening remark, Hon. Kolade Akinjo charged the Federal Government through the NDDC to rise to the yearning of his people and restore electricity to the Niger Delta areas of Ondo State being the economic basket mouth of the state. He further pledged to continue in his usual way to empower the youths without any limitation. He then promised to serve the people better if they support his 3rd term ambition as the whole house shouted NO VACANCY, NO VACANCY for House of Representatives in Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency.
In his statement, the Board Director Alpha 3D Company in Ondo State, Prince Poroye Biyi Bill who was the Chairman of the occasion, appreciated the frantic efforts of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Arakunrin Lucky Aiyedatiwa in combating the insecurity challenge in the state especially in Ilaje Local Government. He then charged the youths to rise up to defend their fathers’ land and also complement the efforts of the state government.
“The youth leaders must be up and doing to engage one another, call yourself to a round table and talk to your senses because all the perpetrators of these killings and counter-killings are not imported either from other states or local governments but they are within. Note that, you cannot put fire on the roof and go to bed to sleep. It is very dangerous!” Poroye said.
In his closing remark, the chairman of NDYLC, Comrade Asiki Meduoye appreciated the state government for giving them the enabling environment to operate and also thanked all the invitees and awardees for honouring the occasion. He specially appreciated the esteemed presence of Hon. Kolade Akinjo and Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo who was represented by Prince Poroye Biyi Bill in a dual capacity as the chairman of the occasion. He finally urged the youths to maintain peace and unity in all their endeavours.
