Don’t destroy Aketi’s legacy, I am one of Akeredolu’s legacies, Governor Aiyedatiwa tells Ondo journalists

The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Thursday, charged Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State chapter not to allow desperate politicians to penetrate the union to destroy late Governor Akeredolu’s good legacy, stressed that he’s one of Akeredolu’s legacies in Ondo State.
Governor Aiyedatiwa said that every journalist should be involved in the current efforts to tackle fake journalists who are on the evil mission to destroy Ondo State and Akeredolu’s legacy in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
Governor Aiyedatiwa gave the advice at the media parley with journalists at Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State on Thursday, 15th February, 2024.
Aiyedatiwa, who was the special guest of honour at the media parley which was put together by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, thanked the journalists for the good work they had done and still doing for Ondo State, encouraging them to participate fully at the ongoing burial ceremony of late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON and ensured the burial activities are captured very well.
The organiser of the programme, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, in his opening address, noted that the media parley was first of its kind since Aiyedatiwa has assumed office as Governor of Ondo State, stressed that the meeting would be a continuous one.
“This media parley with Mr. Governor is purposely to meet and greet one another. It is just to know ourselves by face and who-is-who in the media houses of Ondo State.”
While reacting, the General Manager, Adaba Fm, Mr. Martins Ayoola, encouraged Governor Aiyedatiwa to operate an open door policy and accommodate everybody.
In the same manner, the General Manager, NTA, AKure, Mrs. Olubunmi Oke, encouraged the Governor to make frantic efforts to restore the lost glory of Ondo State, commending the Aiyedatiwa for his outstanding achievements within two months he assumed office as Governor of Ondo State.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ondo State, Prince Leke Adegbite, assured the Governor that the union would package the various suggestions and recommendations made during the dialogue and ensure that they are improved upon.
Prince Adegbite while speaking, specially appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for appointing Ondo-based journalist as his Chief Press Secretary in person of Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan. He also thanked the Governor on behalf of other journalists who have been appointed by the Governor as media aides, promised to uphold the act of professionalism in day-to-day activities of the union’s members.
