Easter celebration: Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede empowers widows, aged, gives free medical succour to Ayede-Ogbese people
The wife of Oba Afolabi Oluyede, the Alayede of Ayede-Ogbese Kingdom, Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede, has empowered widows, aged and also gave free medical check-up alongside with drugs to women in Ayede-Ogbese, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.
The programme which was held yesterday Friday, 15th April, 2022 at the Royal Ranch, Ayede-Ogbese, Ondo State, have in attendance the Ayede-Ogbese women vanguard, widows, aged, representatives of Kabiyesi, traditional chiefs, representatives of CAN and political leaders.
At the programme, free medical checks and wellness assessment were carried out while prescribed drugs were given free to over one hundred women.
While speaking with Coastal Renaissance news, the coordinator of the medical checks, Princess Aderonke, explained the need for people, especially women to observe regular medical checks for the stability of their health and wellness of their body.
The Ayede-Ogbese Women Vanguard who coordinated the programme gave it a befitting outlook with proper coordination. The group which is saddled with the responsibility of making life more meaningful and bearable for women in the community and also to ensure that Ogbese market is free for all and sundry to trade without any harassment from so called association. And more importantly to ensure the community and market environment is always clean and neat.
Speaking with Coastal Renaissance news, the representatives of Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede, Mrs. Gabriel Bolanle said “the Ayede-Ogbese Women Vanguard was formed out of the desire to put smile on the faces of the women in Ayede-Ogbese community and its environs and that 25 widows and 25 aged were empowered with cash and other items”.
The Kabiyesi of Ayede Ogbese, Oba Ajibola Oluyede was represented by the Odopetu of Ayede Ogbese kingdom, High Chief Oladimeji Abitogun, who also hailed the empowerment programme and commended the resilient efforts of Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede in ensuring the community is transformed and making life meaningful to the less privileged people in the community and its environs, especially, the widows and aged.
