Empowerment Programme: OSAWA shortlists 50 people for skills acquisition and training, as stakeholders give commendation for their humanitarian gesture
A non-governmental group called Ondo South Advancement and Welfare Consultative Association (OSAWA) has shortlisted 50 people for skills acquisition and training as stakeholders from Ondo South gave commendation for their Initiative and humanitarian gesture.
You would recall that the group had recently held a summit on Ondo South Security, Economic and Leadership (OSSELS). The programme which was held in July 2021 with quiz competition for students across the southern part of Ondo State. They also observed symposium and skills acquisition at the programme.
As much as the skills acquisition and empowerment programme gained public traction, again 50 interested applicants have been shortlisted for continuation of the trainings across the six (6) local government areas of Ondo South.
The list of applicants was screened and reviewed by the Skills Acquisition Planning Committee which was later transferred to the office of the president, Comrade Juwon Ade-Aworetan for endorsement.
According to the Director of New Media Communication of the group, Ojo Dolire, while speaking with Coaster Renaissance correspondence said Ileoluji/Okeigbo LGA topped the list with twenty-two (22) beneficiaries while Okitipupa and Ilaje Local Governments have sixteen (16) and seven (7) respectively.
Others are three (3) from Ese-Odo, one (1) from Irele and one (1) from Odigbo.
The President of the group, Ade-Aworetan while speaking with Coastal Renaissance correspondence, said all the 50 candidates have be notified the commencement date of the programme starting from the first-week of August 2021.
The President is also expected to lead a monitoring team to set up the OSAWA Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Centre across the six (6) local government areas of Ondo South and that registration of candidates will kick-start immediately at the various centres of each local government.
