Jos Massacre: Ondo Reps member, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo sympathizes with Akoko people, calls for peace & tranquility
A federal lawmaker representing Akoko North West/Akoko North East Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has condemned the massacre of Ondo Indigenes who were murdered in Jos, Plateau State yesterday.
The federal lawmaker who regretted the unfortunate incident where 22 travellers believed to be travelling to Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, were killed at Rukuba road area of Jos North Local Area of Plateau State on Saturday, 14th of August 2021.
The Chairman House Committee on NDDC who spoke through his Special Adviser on New Media, Alao Babatunde, condemned the gruesome act in totality and described it as act of inhumanity to man
According to him, all Nigerians should have the confidence and liberty to access any part of the federation without fear or intimidation.
In his words, “I’ve not been able to wrap my thoughts around the sad incident since yesterday. Obviously, we are living in dangerous times in Nigeria and unfortunately it’s everywhere.
While sympathizing with the people of Akoko over the killings, the federal lawmaker enjoined them not to take laws into their hands as this he said would only further aggravate the situation
He then called on security agencies to be on top of the situation and bring the culprits to book as he finally called for peace and tranquility.
