FAKE NEWS: Akingbaso Benson is not an Oba-elect of Alade-Idanre community, Akinbola family clears the air
_…says Akingbaso is not from any of the two ruling houses of Alade-Idanre kingdom_
The family of Akinbola ruling house in Alade-Idanre, has called on the state government and general public to disregard the fake news making round the social media that the residents of Alade Idanre, Idanre local government area, have cried out over long absence of a king in the community.
The family of Akinbola has also informed the public that Otunba Akingbaso Benson is not an Oba-elect of Alade-Idanre community because is not from any of the two ruling houses of Alade-Idanre kingdom.
Following the obaship tussle rocking Alade-Idanre community since the demise of late Oba Olusegun Ayodele Akinbola in October 2020, the family of Akinbola has approached the High Court of Justice of Ondo State in the Akure judicial division holden at Akure to stop illegal selection into the stool.
It would be recalled that the family of Akinbola had earlier filed a suit against the late Engr. Alex Akinnadeju who claimed he was an Oba-elect, informed the court to nullify the process that produced him, as Akinbola family claimed that Engr. Alex Akinnadeju was not from the recognised ruling house in Alade-Idanre kingdom.
Following the demise of Alex Akinnadeju, Akinbola family has further filed an application in the Law Court to substitute Mr. Ayo Akinnadeju for the name of late Engr. Alex Akinnadeju, who was the first defendant in the Suit No: Ak/218/2023.
Akinbola family insisted that late Engr. Alex Akinnadeju was not an Oba-elect because the case was already and still pending in court before his demise, thus condemned in totality the illegal selection of Mr. Benson Akingbaso, claiming that Akingbaso is not from any of the two royal families of Lagokun Ruling House, hence, should not parade himself as an Oba Elect of Alade-Idanre kingdom.
The family further stated that the process that produced Akingbaso was faulty despite not being from royal families of Akinbola or Akinboro
The Akinbola family, in a release made available to Coastal Renaissance News, said, “the only recognized Ruling House in Alade-Idanre is Lagokun which comprises Akinbola and Akinboro families, noting that the kingmakers should do the needful by voting a candidate among the contestants of Akinboro royal family because the family of Akinbola produced the last Oba of Alade-Idanre, hence, it is the turn of Akinboro family to produce the next Oba. However, if Akinboro family has no candidate for now, it will rather come back to Akinbola family since it is the two families that made up of the ruling house of Lagokun of Alade-Idanre kingdom.
