There is the idealized notion of leadership, which offers that progress is change, and that no leader ever becomes great without overthrowing extant rules and conventions in order to transform society. In other words, and in true Fanonian fashion, such a leader who has real vision and is truly desirous of making enduring impact in the life of his people and society, must shake up and if necessary overthrow the status quo.
Although, overthrowing the status quo can only be achieved with high price, even with security gadgets of huge capital and, in revolutionary cases, threat of life and prosperity, this is how a serious leader leads and how he/she entrenches enduring legacy that will never attract eraser.
In the recent history of security surveillance in the coastal region of Ondo State, I think the dramatic shift in leadership style, vision and achievements, speak eloquently of how the present Commandant of Tantita Security Services, Senior High Chief Idowu Asonja, came and equipped with good mission to transform security threats against federal government crude oil pipelines in Ondo State and resolved never to betray the vision of his boss, Government Ekpemupolo popularly called Tompolo.
The resolve and courage of lion of Senior High Chief Asonja to question the status quo and bring proper protection to the federal government pipelines, has earned him the title – ‘Ondo Coastal Security Surveillance Revivalist and Redeemer’.
Senior High Chief Asonja, I salute your extraordinary courage of maintaining enduring peace and security in the coastal line of Ondo State to ensure maximum oil production and enhancement of the Nigeria’s economy.
Your dedication and commitment are truly admirable. Frankly, you are an asset to any team. No doubt, you have earned your recognition and promotion through your exceptional skills.
