MODULAR REFINERY: GODWIN SUNDAY LAUDS PRESIDENT BUHARI FOR THE COMMISSIONING OF WALTERSMITH REFINERY IN IMO, CALLS FOR FULL INTERGRATION OF DROAN AND APPROVAL OF SAME ACROSS THE 9 NIGER DELTA STATES
The National Chairman of Domestic Refinery Owners’ Association of Nigeria DROAN, Mr Godwin Sunday, has commended and applauded the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to build a better Nigeria and a better future for the nation through the commissioning of the 5,000 BDP WalterSmith Modular Refinery in Imo State.
Godwin while speaking with the Coastal Renaissance online news yesterday expressed his delight on the position of the Federal Government to live up to the expectation for the commissioning of the refinery roadmap that was rolled out in 2018 which was purposely to make Nigeria a net exporter of petroleum products.
In his words, “I want to appreciate the Federal Government for her initiative and frantic effort to making Nigeria a net exporter of petroleum products by rolling out some Refineries. As we can see that Modular refinery is one the surest ways to expedite the nation’s dreams of becoming a net exporter of petroleum products; hence create job opportunities for the youths and unemployed graduates in the country”.
The Deputy National Chairman Prince Poroye Biyi Bill while reacting after the commissioning appealed to the Federal Government for the quick integration of the Domestic Refinery Owners’ Association of Nigeria (DROAN) and also called on President Buhari to give express approval for the establishment of Modular Refinery across the 9 Niger Delta States in the country and Ondo State in particular.
In the same manner, the Chairman of DROAN in Ondo State, Hon. Oladeji Ebisemiju, stressed on the reasons why Nigeria and Nigerians need Modular Refinery at this critical time where Corona virus pandemic, hike in fuel price and ENDSARS protest have disrupted our economic growth thereby moving Nigeria to recession. He further urged the Federal Government to do the needful as a matter of urgency by taking due advantage of the Modular Refinery concept which will further culminate the accelerated development in the country.
