ODSFA: AIYEDATIWA EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO SUNSHINE STARS, INSISTS ON RESTRUCTURING & REBRANDING OF THE TEAM FOR ENVIABLE POSITION
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State and Chairman Management Committee on ODSFA, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed gratitude to the players and officials of Sunshine Stars for fighting tenaciously till the end to beat the drop in the 2020/21 NPFL season.
The Management Committee headed by Aiyedatiwa steered Sunshine Stars to safety with a final day win over Rivers United in Akure, just as the team gallantly bowed out of the AITEO Cup in the semis on penalties, a feat the Deputy Governor is largely attributing to the team’s resilience.
_”I thank the players and officials for not letting us down; they fought well till the end to escape relegation and did well in the AITEO Cup. The Akeredolu (Aketi) Government is very pleased with this feat, it was magnificent and we are proud of the team and grateful for the effort of players and their officials._ Aiyedatiwa disclosed exclusively to Sunshine Stars Media on Saturday.
Aiyedatiwa who doubles as the President of Sunshine Stars FC also hinted during the session with S.S.F.C Media that the planned restructuring of the Club for better performance will start earnestly in the off season ahead of the the 2021/2022 season.
_”Now the Club is going to be restructured to be an enviable brand. To start with, players that will be part of our future plans amongst the present crop of players will be communicated to before the 16th of this month and other things will follow.”_ He concluded.
