Okitipupa Power Substation: Ondo Tantita Coordinator, Asonja lauds Tinubu for leading a progressive government

Ondo State Coordinator of the Tantita Security Services (TSS), Senior High Chief Felix Idowu Asonja, has expressed gratitude to the Tinubu-led Federal Government of Nigeria for the successful delivery of Okitipupa Power Substation in the southern senatorial district of Ondo State.
The Federal Government, through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has completed and commissioned the 132/33kv electricity substation at Ode-Erinje in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State to the national grid, as part of the efforts to restore electricity to oil-producing communities in Ondo South Senatorial District that had been without electricity for the past 15 years.

We appreciate this legacy project that will contribute hugely to the socioeconomic advancement of the people of the south. This is progressive governance and leadership in action. We must also thank all past and present political office holders in the southern senatorial district who have made efforts in this direction.” Asonja noted.
The project which was commissioned on 22nd May, 2024, cost about 8.1 billion naira, covering
A 45km 132kV feeder line from the Omotosho Power Plant to Erinje
Two 60 MVA, 132/33kV transformers at the Erinje substation, rehabilitation of 33km of 33/11kV transmission lines from Okitipupa to Igbokoda, Ugbonla, and other Ilaje neighbouring communities.
Construction of a 1km rigid pavement with drainage.

Senior High Chief Asonja, who thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for leading a progressive government, also applauded Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for providing the enabling environment for the delivery of the project. He also appreciated the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr. Samuel Ogbuku; the Executive Director of Projects, Director of Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt Hon Victor Etim Antai, Charles B. Ogunmola, former Executive Director, Projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and the Honourable Commissioner representing Ondo State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Otito Atikase.
Asonja further appreciated the efforts of some leaders and groups who played vital roles by ensuring that the project was completed. The exhaustive list includes the former House Committee on Niger Delta Affairs and Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Present Chairman, Commitment on Niger Delta Affairs at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. ERHIATAKE Ibori-Suenu.
While applauding the contracting firm under the leadership of Chief Benson Obayelu for the timely completion and delivery of the project, Asonja commended Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, Hon Jimi Odimayo, Hon Donald Ojogo, Senators Nicholas Tofowomo and Yele Omogunwa, Executive Director (Engineering & Technical Services) at Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, Engr Ife Oyedele, Hon Mike Omogbehin, Hon Victor Kolade Akinjo, Hon Rasaq Obe and Executive director (Corporate Services), NDDC, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde.
