ONDO 2024 GUBER RACE: APC ABORIGINES HAVE CONCLUDED PLAN TO ALIGN WITH THE BEST GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT

The founding members of APC in Ondo State have affirmed readiness to align with their preferred governorship aspirant in preparation for the party’s governorship primary billed for April 2024. This resolution was reached in the second meeting of the FOUNDATIONAL ASSOCIATES in APC Ondo State on Thursday, 14th March, 2024.

The meeting which was held at Ijapo Royal Bird Hotel was presided over by former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Togo, H.E, Ambassador Sola Iji who was former Chairman of AD, AC and ACN successively.

At the meeting were, former Deputy Leader of the 9th Senate and three -term Senator, Professor Ajayi Borrofice; a former Commissioner and party Leader, Hon. Bola Ilori; former National Welfare Secretary of defunct ANPP, Hon. Yunusa Adeola; former Ondo North Senatorial Chairman of AC, Alhaji Isa Oloruntoba; former Ondo South Senatorial Chairman of ACN, Hon Wale Akintimehin; Dr Femi Akingbola ;former State Chairman of defunct CPC, Hon. Lekan Obolo; pioneer State Secretary of APC, Hon. Raman Rotimi; Otunba Kelly Agboola; former State Women Leader of AD, Chief (Mrs) Grace Animola; former State Women Leader of ACN, Hon. ( Mrs) Kehinde Adeniran; former Deputy National Women Leader of defunct ANPP, Mrs Fagbamiye Abimbola; former Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government, Hon(Mrs) Folawe Sipasi-Aluko; former Commissioner for Regional lntegration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye Ologbese, Chief (Mrs) Mosun Odukale and Dr Jide Owoka, Hon. Yemi Bada and Hon. Iwarere Iji. Others were former State Executive Members and LG Party Chairmen including Hon. Jerome Olorunyolemi; Rotimi Agbede; Elder Eben Ogunrinde, Alhaji Rafiu Gbadeyan; Chief Abraham Adejimiroye; Hon. Adeolu Akinseyoju Hon. Ademulegun Adeala; Hon. Henry Olatuja; Hon. Olakunle Eko; Barrister Bisi Ayeni; , Hon Mohammed Enas; Alhaja Fausat Kazeem; Hon. Dayo Bello; Hon. Akin Tiewei; Engr. Kolawole Olusegun;Hon. Adeolu Igbede and Chief Festus Omolaja. Also at the meeting were several Party Leaders including Chief Lawrence Adenugba, (Pari e), Hon. Bola Ajimuda; Hon. Adejare Adeyefa, Barrister Kayode Arowosola; Princess Dr Sade Ogunoye and Barrister Femi Omosuwa.

The meeting also had in attendance Bishop Oye Gbelela; Otunba Sylvester Ikuejamoye; Hon. Kunle Bada; Hon. Kunle Oyegoke; Chief Olufemi Ayomoogun; Hon. Olakanmi Adesuyan; Hon. Adeolu Akinseyoju; Hon. Omoniyi Olowomuke; Otunba Taiwo Adegoroye; Chief Oyinlola Olatunji; Pastor Olutosoye; Hon.Sade Aladenola; Mrs Olufowose; Hon. Tope Omolayo; Mrs Mary Bakare; Hon. Musa Kasali; Hon Olalekan Odere; Chief Femi Moyegun; Hon. Gbenro Akintolayo; Adewale Moware; Engr. Tunji Adepiti; Hon. Tope Ayeni and Araba Ebietomiye.

Equally in attendance were were Apostle Olusola Akinmejiwa; Chief Olubunmi Osabiya; Olanrewaju Akinkuotu; Mrs Helen Adelehin; Hon. Wemimo Falana; Prophet Ogunmoyero; Olugbenga Ajayi; Hon. Sheed Lateef; Mrs Remilekun Ologunore; and Ojo Oluwamo.

Other leaders were Hon. Ayetan Betiku; Mrs Evelyn Ayomike; Sunday Iyaomojuko; Hon. Jabez Olawoye; Kolawole Temitope; Ibikunle Ijagbi; Ojo Oluwamo; Adekunle Isijola; Rufus Olanrewaju and Olabimi Arowolo among other party stalwarts from the eighteen Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

Amb Sola lji while welcoming the party leaders, commended their steadfastness and loyalty to the party for several years and underscored the need for them to work together as strategic leaders and stakeholders in the party.

Senator Ajayi Borrofice and Hon. Bola Ilori re -echoed Amb. Iji on the need to work together as a group in deploying our support for the Governorship Aspirant of our choice.

Reacting, the party leaders at the meeting resolved to work towards a common goal at the forthcoming governorship primary.

Consequently, a nine – member committee representing the nine federal constituencies of the state was set up to evaluate all the Governorship Aspirants in the party and recommend three most qualified Aspirants for further consideration of the whole house in arriving at the choice candidate.
