Ondo Tipper Association Ban: Poroye Biyi hails Governor Akeredolu, charges government to set up Price Control Monitoring Team to checkmate the excesses of all associations in the state

A chieftain of the APC in Ondo State, Prince Poroye Biyi Bill, has hailed the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over his executive order ban of tipper association.
You would recall that the members of the association of Tipper and Quarry Owners of Nigeria in Ondo State have recently increased the price of sharp sand from N25,000 to N60,000 per load.
The Governor of Ondo State however had directed the sharp sand dealers to revert to the old price of N25,000 or be ready to leave the state.
While speaking with Coastal Renaissance reporter yesterday in Akure, Prince Poroye appreciated and commended the decision of the Governor and the state over the matter. He then charged the Governor to set up Price Control Monitoring Team to checkmate the excesses of all associations in the state and also called on the Government to mandate religious bodies to improve on the social welfare of their members.
He said, “Ondo State has becoming a banana republic in the hand of associations, dealers and sellers of commodities. They fix prices of commodities and services at will without any price control. The Government needs to make a statement and do something as a matter of urgency, otherwise, it will continue to cause undue pains on the populace. It is the government responsibility to discourage any form of extortion and hardship on the people”.
When you compare prices of goods and services in our neighbouring states such as Ekiti, Osun, Ogun & Edo, you will discover that the prices of goods and services are extremely cheaper than that of Ondo State. Our people are extremely too wicked. For instance, I priced a refrigerator of the same size, model and quality in Akure and later bought the refrigerator in Osogbo, Osun State with N22,000 difference in price, even at that, the seller volunteered to make a delivery to my house in Akure”.
“You can’t imagine a vulcanizer charging prices of car tyre from N50 to N100 to N200 and now to N500. The question is that, is natural air got increased”?
“Frankly speaking, the excesses of associations and dealers especially in Akure metropolis is becoming unbearable”. Poroye opined.
