SUPREME COURT VERDICT: NDCV CONGRATULATES TINUBU & SHETTIMA, CALLS FOR INCLUSION ON THE ONGOING PIPELINE SURVELANCE CONTRACT AWARD BY FG
The Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard (NDCV), has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and his Vice, Kashim Shettima on their victory at the Supreme Court, appealed to the President on the inclusion of the group under the leadership of Akogun Job Omotuwa, on the ongoing pipeline surveillance contract award by the Federal Government. He stressed the need for the President to decentralize the new surveillance Contract Award project to accommodate leaders of ex-militants in Ondo, Ogun and Lagos States to avoid imminent crisis in the region.
Akogun Job Omotuwa made this appeal through his spokesman, Comrade Niyi Majofodun yesterday, Saturday 28th October, 2023 in a prees briefing in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State.
It would be recalled that the ex-militants of the mandate areas under the leadership of Akogun Job Omotuwa accepted the offer, terms and conditions of the Federal Government through the Ondo State government by embarking on or keying into the disarmament/presidential amnesty exercise of Ex-Militants in November, 2017 and have accordingly surrendered or handed down to the Government arms and ammunitions of various degrees and purposes in a week long Disarmament/Presidential Amnesty exercise in sometime November, 2017 but the government under the Buhari-led administration blatantly failed, refused and neglected to honour or fulfill its part by absorbing them into the Presidential Amnesty programme carried out by the government in November, 2017 till date.
The government at all levels have abandoned, neglected and relegated the group to the current hopelessness having been so disarmed.
The leader of the group, Akogun Job Omotuwa, appealed to President Tinubu to decentralize the current pipeline surveillance contract to accommodate NDCV to cover Ondo, Ogun and Lagos State littoral corridor, stressing that the NDCV has the capacity, required intelligence and human resources to collaborate with the federal government in the surveillance of pipeline and anti-bunkering activities in the area.
Below is the full press release.
PRESS RELEASE
Gentlemen of the press, you are all welcome to this press briefing, firstly, on behalf of our Leader and the former warlord, Akogun Job Omotuwa, we congratulate His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and his Vice Kashim Shettima on their well-deserved victory at the Supreme Court.
The judgment was a testament to the fact that Nigerians really voted for the President ans Vice President on the last February 23rd, 2023 presidential election. The judgment has also brought an end to all litigations and all forms of distractions to the President and his Vice.
We want to implore all the parties that involved to follow the part of peace by coming together to support our dear president in actualizing the renewed Hope agenda designed for Nigeria and Nigerians.
While Congratulating the President and his Vice, we want to use this opportunity to remind and appeal to President Tinubu to look into our yearnings by awarding the pipeline surveillance contract in the south west coastline to our leader, Akogun Job Omotuwa, who is the Chairman of Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard (NDCV) cut across the South West region of Nigeria.
It is worthy of note that decentralization of the pipeline surveillance contract to each of the former warlord within their jurisdictions will bring about effective service delivery and expected results in the oil and gas industry in the country.
We also want to appeal to Mr. President to please consider NDCV group under the leadership of Akogun Job Omotuwa in the integration into the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP).
Your Excellency will recall that our group under the ages of Forest Solder led by Akogun Job Omotuwa was engaged by Federal government of Nigeria in collaboration with Ondo State government in 2017 under the administration of former president Muhammadu Buhari for disarmament, after a robust discussion as we believed there was no any alternative to peace and we decided to follow the part of peace by dropping all our arms and ammunitions to ensure peaceful co-existence in the Niger Delta region of Ondo State, unfortunately, the Federal Government of Nigeria under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari failed their own part of the agreement based on their refusal to integrate our group into the presidential amnesty program (PAP), even at that, we remain resolute and calm as a party faithfuls and as a progressive minded persons who have being working for the party from defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) to the ACN and now to the All Progressives Congress APC.
We have chosen to follow the part of peace and we will continue to canvass the peace to collaborate with all the security agencies in ensuring adequate security and peaceful co-existence in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large.
We pray that God Almighty will continue to guide and uphold our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and strengthened him to actualize all his good dreams for Nigeria and Nigerians.
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thanks and God bless.
